Charities

During the last couple of years we have continued to work supporting more local charities chosen by the children as well as the larger National Initiatives that we regularly collect money for.

Our school vision is to Love the Lord our God and to Love our Neighbour as ourselves.  Luke 10 v 27.

Our pupils are motivated to support others less fortunate than themselves and demonstrate our Christian Values of Generosity, Compassion and Community and practice the value of Service through their fundraising efforts.

During 2021/22 we have collected for:

  • Mary's Meals
  • Rugby Foodbank
  • Guide Dogs
  • Save the Children
  • Comic Relief
  • Bubblebecca Pugs
  • Children's Air Ambulance
  • Anti-Slavery

Children's Charity Fundraising

Each term the children arrange their own Charity Day.  They choose which charities they want to support which are most often those that they have personal experience of.  Our Charity Ambassadors then work alongside groups of children to plan and organise how they want to do the fundraising activities.  Posters are created, items for sale are collected and the children run the event at break and lunchtime.

School Charity - ASHA

As a school we continue to support our main Charity - Asha.  However, due to the Covid Pandemic, we  have been unable to visit the Seelapur Slum since our last visit in 2019.  Mrs Bernard remains in contact with the Asha team and in the Autumn Term of 2022 we received a visit from Freddy and one of the Asha Students who were welcomed with a range of exciting activities that the children took part in!

In Autumn of 2022 the whole school took part in a Sponsored Fun Run on Friday 30th September. All were welcome to join us as we walk / run around the one mile course, with some childen claiming 10 laps in the time available!

The children did an amazing job, raising £1720 which we presented to Freddy in a celebration assembly.

All the money we raise we go directly to support the children and help to make their living conditions better.

During 2023 and 2024, we will be joining Asha with their 35th Anniversary Celebrations.   A number of events will be held with some in schools across the country.  Both Dr Kiran and Freddy Martin will be visiting the UK to support these celebrations.

In February 2024, 2 members of Clifton staff will be visiting New Delhi to work with the slum communities supported by Asha.  As a school, we will continue with our fund-raising events to help provide much needed resources.

Our Student Head team met with Freddy during his visit in November 2023, and have some amazing ideas for fundraising activities.
